How Authors Get a Film Deal – TWO DATES!

We are giving those who wish to take this class two opportunites to join us.  You are welcome to join us for BOTH sessions if you wish! Wednesday Sept 9th at 8pm Eastern AND Saturday Sept 12 at 1pm Eastern.

Learn how books move from page to screen—and what you can do to give yours a stronger shot. This practical class breaks down film and TV rights, option and shopping agreements, loglines, pitching, and industry outreach in plain English. You’ll come away with a clearer understanding of how the process works, what entertainment professionals are looking for, how to find those looking for stories like yours, and how to position your book more professionally for possible adaptation opportunities.

Thank you, Amy! Your classes are chock full of information! Thanks for sharing your experience in such a down-to-earth, personable way.

Feedback From Our Students:

Foreign Rights Class

You have been an absolute master mentor to us unfamiliar with the ins and outs of the publishing industry. You were always there to enlighten us on various topics, always ready to help and respond to any questions. Your guidance was invaluable in getting us to start sending out e-mails to publishers world-wide, and you always seemed to have the answer to any queries and more than willing to share the knowledge with us. Thank you so much for all your help,

Michael M.

Synopsis Class

Today’s synopsis class was amazing. Incredibly hands-on and helpful, and everyone walked away significantly closer to having a strong synopsis for their project. Amy, you were SO generous with your time, giving participants extra time to work on their first drafts and answering every single question thoughtfully. I don’t know where you get your energy!

Marketing Class

This class was a gift not only to my career but to my spirit. As a writer who finds pitching and promoting myself anxiety-provoking, I appreciated Amy’s breaking down the intimidating into a plan of small, easily actionable steps. She is a generous teacher who inspires as well as she informs.
